God gave a special prescription for marriage relationships within his Word. This prescription and the other wisdom God has specifically given to his people radically changes lives and relationships. Wyoming Strong Families believes the Church should be THE leader in teaching relationship skills and helping to heal what is broken.
How Will Your Church Paticipate?
Preaching on marriage is important but we know there's a whole Bible's worth of sermons that need to be covered, too. So what can your church do to build up marriages in your community?
Host a Marriage Event
Marriage Events are FUN! A well-designed event helps couples to:
- enjoy intentional time together
- receive marriage encouragement
- learn new relationship skills
- connect with other couples
We have "plug and play" templates and resources that make hosting a marriage event a piece of cake. We also provide support to help you cast vision for your event and see it brought to life!
The first church in each county that schedules a marriage event in January or February of 2027 will receive a FREE marriage resource of your choice for your community!

Why January & February?
Ever heard of "divorce season"? Yes, it's sadly a real thing. Statistically there are more divorces in the first two months of the year than any other time. Many couples are willing to "hang on" or "fight through" the holiday season, but convince themselves their reasons for staying married evaporate when the calendar starts over. Marriage events in this season can give couples something fun to look forward to and a reason to try one more thing.

Host a Training
We want to start a movement where couples across the state, in every town and across every mile in-between, are being intentionally led to consistently invest in their marriages. We know there are leaders in every community just waiting to be called up to lead the charge and people that need discipled.
Wyoming Strong Families currently offers four trainings for marriage leaders & discipleship:
This isn't a "peer over the fence" or "one-size-fits-all" training. This interactive workshop will walk leaders through creating a marriage ministry tailored to your church with steps to get started as soon as the training ends.
The majority of struggling couples don't need to see professional counselors, which are hard to access in Wyoming. They need a fresh perspective and tools to work through their differences in healthy ways. Marriage Mentors are trained to walk couple-to-couple, providing feedback, accountability, and skills teaching over a 10 week period. And don't worry about having a perfect marriage--the best mentors are often the ones that have overcome the hardest struggles.
- LifeLines
This is a skills course to help every person feel confident responding to individuals in need to ensure that no one has to navigate tough times alone. You will gain clarity and effectiveness so you can influence people's lives in a meaningful way.
- Small Group Leader Training
This FamilyLife small group facilitator training is designed to help you lead dynamic small group interactions. Small groups when led well lead to a deep sense of community and lasting life transformation. This workshop will equip facilitators with the leverage of powerful interaction versus traditional teaching.
